Wet and Wild
5 tricks to make shower sex awesome
In movies, shower sex involves beautiful, naked, soapy bodies and steamy kisses with graceful movements; reality often tells a different story. Slipping awkwardly while you try to find a stable position, bumping into cold tiles, and soap in sensitive areas are likely the majority of experiences lovers have in the shower. I am here to tell you it doesn’t have to be that way! Here are some tips and tricks to getting wet and wild in the shower.
1. Keep your privates out of the running water!Sure, it is arousing to see your partner slicked down, but the shower water can accidently wash away your natural lubrication. By preventing the water from washing over your genitals, you can maintain your own wetness so that it doesn’t hurt when your partner enters you. And be really careful if that delicate southern skin gets irritated easily—you might want to avoid getting all soapy in that particular area during the act. The number one thing that most couples do wrong is cause vaginal irritation and/or infection, this tip will help you avoid that!
2. Keep your feet on the ground! It should come as no surprise that shower sex has a bit of danger with it. After all, you are trying to have sex in an area where everything is slippery! A good position is standing doggy style; the receptive partner bent over with both feet on the ground, while your lover is upright behind. Avoid placing a foot on the edge of the tub, or adding acrobatics to the already slippery surfaces.
3. Shower as foreplay!Previous tips sound too complicated for you? Try foreplay in the shower, and then have the actual intercourse outside it. There are plenty of sensual things in the shower, like the sensuality of the water, the steam, and the close proximity of each others’ bodies. The shower provides you with a lot of different opportunities that are simply not present elsewhere, so take advantage of them!
4. Take your time!Appreciate and embrace the intimacy of the moment. There’s no makeup, your bodies are bare, and you’re standing there together taking care of each other. Wash and shampoo each other. Go slow, because slow is often really sexy. Give an epic head scratch as you shampoo your lover's hair, or wash each other from head to toe. You might find sensitive spots you didn’t even know you had.
5. Prep your birth control first! It’s not easy to put on a condom with slippery hands, and even harder to open. Open the package first and set it aside if you choose to use a condom, just make sure you research the brand to see if it is safe in water. Get protected before you get wet—whether by birth control, IUD, or whichever is your personal preference.
