Hello, beautiful babes! Welcome back to another one of my “Oh My Blog” lingerie segments in which I rant, rave, and sometimes ridicule different lingerie pieces from The Lion’s Den!
There’s just something about the way a piece of lingerie can make you feel - how much it can boost your confidence or tear it asunder in a flame of uncomfortable straps or body and fabric bunching in unflattering areas. I make it a point to find the sexiest, most affordable and comfortable lingerie at Lion’s Den that’s sure to make you feel like a 10 through the whole day…and even into the night.
As a tall woman with a shallow cup size, one of my most difficult-to-find lingerie sets is anything that covers the torso and has bra cups! It will fit in one spot perfectly and look like I am swimming in fabric or squeezing into a sausage tube in another area. So, during my avid search for a bustier with garter straps, I came across a gorgeous turquoise set from the company Seven ‘Til Midnight.
I’m a sucker for gemstone and pastel colors, so this turquoise set had me under its spell immediately. The mesh and lace areas flow perfectly on the garment and are well patterned to also flow with the body. The back of the bustier has delicate straps that are primarily for esthetics and they serve their purpose well. The keyhole front is probably one of my favorite aspects - especially with the lace trim going around the outside, rather than just an unfinished edge. One of the great things about this bustier is that it comes with a MATCHING G-string!!! Ladies, there is nothing better than when your undergarments match; you could rule the world with that kind of outfit coordination.
Time to give it my SCRAP rating and really get into the details of this gorgeous piece:
S – Sexuality Overall, I’d give this piece a B+ for its sexuality.
Whereas this is quite the seductive bustier, the use of mesh, I feel, is overdone. More lace could have been used on the sides and even carried up in another triangle pattern that would continue to flatter the body. The strappy cage details are so popular right now and with good reason: these details on the bustier are insta-sexy!
Did I feel sexy? Sort of. That answer mostly has to do with how the bustier fit and its level of comfort.
C - Comfort This piece was a B- in my book. It didn’t exactly fit in all the areas. One of the biggest problems shallow-chested ladies face: The cups were a bit too large unless I added cutlets. But even then, the shoulder straps remained loose despite the fact that they were shortened all the way.
If I had gone for a size small, it would have been too tight in my breasts but since I went with a medium, the torso fabric bunched (primarily around the keyhole). The fabric is soft and delicate and the g-string was not overly obnoxious like some can be (it’s pretty much just butt floss, but this was tolerable butt floss).
R - Reliability I’m going to have to rate this a C+ for the bustier’s reliability. The biggest faux pas has to be the garter straps. Whereas I absolutely love the option to have them or not, the fact that they are removable has caused some reliability mistrust. Unlike other removable garter straps I have, these ones would pop off at random movements. Not so great when you’re on a date and your stocking is falling down and one of your garter straps is hanging off of it…not classy ladies.
Other areas of the bustier were well made and I can’t see it coming apart in the wash if the garment is washed carefully in a delicate’s bag and lain flat to dry.
A - Affordability A resounding A+ !!! It’s amazing what you can find at the Lion’s Den on their clearance racks, and this gem was on it! I ended up only paying $17.50 and the fact that this came with a matching g-string was an instant bargain.
P – Practicality A- for practicality. Where I’m not going to need a bustier for every outfit, this is still practical and functional for when I do. I even imagine myself wearing it this summer with some cut-off high rise shorts and a sheer duster!
I am satisfied overall with this bustier set and look forward to wearing it even more! See you cuties next time!
